Empowering Youth to Know and Change their World.

What is Project Explore?

Project Explore is an exciting new social science educational program that features interactive tasks using art, creative writing, and community research to engage students in learning about citizenship, types of mapping, diverse cultures, the history of their state, their own school culture, and expanding their understanding of the world around them.

Students analyze a region’s geography and cultures by recording map data, listing observations, and interviews and writing journal entries in their Adventure Journal. The program concludes with students designing their personal Future Community based on their explorations and presenting it as if encouraging tourists to visit. Creativity is encouraged and students have a variety of ways to show success such as presenting a video, a diorama, a poster, or an essay.
